Amy K. Fisher is a partner in the Drug and Device and Product Liability Litigation Groups, concentrating on national and local defense of complex, multidistrict products liability litigation for pharmaceutical, chemical, device and cosmetic manufacturers in federal and state courts. She has appeared before the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation on multiple occasions on behalf of numerous clients to address the merits of centralization. She serves as national and local counsel defending against litigation involving a variety of prescription pharmaceuticals, cosmetics and medical devices, overseeing the defense of a number of complex, national litigations involving mass-tort product liability claims.
Amy has a broad expertise with unique removal, product identification and other creative initial dispositive motions, forum non conveniens, consolidation, summary judgment, and Daubert issues. She is responsible for managing overall strategy, day-to-day coordination, and the complex discovery issues these cases pose for a number of national litigations, including a pharmaceutical multidistrict litigation in which nearly two thousand lawsuits were disposed of through creative and bifurcated case management and dispositive motions. Her practice includes consistent dealings with the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation and various MDLs, which often pose complex choice of law issues.
Amy received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Notre Dame. She earned her juris doctor from the Indiana University School of Law-Indianapolis. She joined Ice Miller LLP in August 2001. She is actively involved in the IADC, various community organizations and with her family, including her husband and two teenage sons.
