Antje Baumann regularly acts as arbitrator in international arbitration proceedings (ICC, Swiss Rules, DIS, LCIA, ad hoc) The vast experience that Antje has gained as an arbitrator in well above 90 cases also impacts the quality of her work as counsel in international arbitrations. Antje is founding partner of BAUMANN Resolving Disputes, a boutique law firm based in Hamburg, Germany. Due to her independence, Antje is able to accept mandates and arbitrator appointments in a wide range of sectors and disputes.
Before establishing her own practice, Antje worked for many years in the dispute resolution department of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer. She holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree from the University of California at Berkeley, and is admitted to the German and New York Bar. Antje speeks English and German.
Antje is honorary professor at the University of Osnabruck. She teaches negotiations and mediations skills as well as international arbitration. She is a frequent speaker and regularly publishes on international arbitration (e.g. Co-editor of the Practitioner’s Handbook on International Commercial Arbitration published by Oxford University Press, and author of the commentary on the ICC Rules).
Antje is particularly experienced in energy, corporate and IP disputes. An additional area of expertise is the defense sector.
